Not Just For Big Businesses Anymore

Friday, June 20th, 2008

One of the things that usually only apply to large corporations rather than non-profit or non-public businesses is enterprise risk management. Well, that is all about to change. For the last two years, the government has been notifying small businesses and the like with white papers and such about their need to implement some risk management. Soon, Sarbox will require it for all business types. Let’s hope that they start preparing for this change early and not wait until the last minute.

Putting Customers On Hold

Friday, March 14th, 2008

It is common in many businesses to leave their customers on hold. But do you know how much they hate being put on hold? Well, there is now a way to make it a little more entertaining for them while promoting your business. Having an on hold recording is great for every business because you get to choose what they are able to hear. Not only will this help with the customers willingness to wait longer, but you can advertise at the same time. It is a brilliant business idea.

Things to Remember When Choosing a Dropshipper

Friday, March 14th, 2008

Trying to find the right dropshipper for your needs can be a frustrating experience. Each dropshipper offers different products and policies. As to not make a mistake, it is imperative that you do your own research about each dropshipper. So here are a few tips for you to keep in mind when conducting your research:

1. Thoroughly look through their entire website. This is a very important step. Because of the fact that, if you choose that dropshipper, you will be on their website quite a bit, you want to make sure that it is easy to maneuver and is very user-friendly. You will want to make sure that you can become easily acquainted with that site. One specific company has a very easy to use website. It is very accessible–even to those who are a little limited in their computer experience and abilities. That company is Doba dropship.

2. Read all the fine print. This may seem like a silly thing to mention, but a surprisingly large amount of people complain about the “fine print”. Well READ IT! If you read it before you sign it, it won’t surprise you. Make sure you fine with all the policies, regulations, and contract details.

3. Talk to those who have had success using that specific dropshipper. Learn from them; learn their “trade secrets”. Get their advice on the best way to utilize the dropshipper. With any company there are good reviews and not-so-good reviews. In my opinion, it is more important to talk to those who have great reviews than those who are bad. And here is why: Those that write the bad reviews are usually bitter and angry  people who did not thoroughly research the dropshipper, read all of the contract, and do not know the tricks of the trade of dropshipping. Most of those bad bad reviews are from people who didn’t get quick rich, as they thought they would. Just like any other business, it takes dedication and at least a little bit of effort in order to see some success.

So, there are a bunch of dropshippers out there to choose from. Do your research and you will benefit in the long run. Please let me know if you have any other advice for finding the best dropshipper. I would love to read your feedback and tips!

Realty Business

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

So, I know that the real estate market is in the toilet, but it still interests me so much. I figure by the time I am done studying for the exam, the  market should be back to normal. Then I will be ready to be hired instantly! But there are a lot of things I never knew realtors have to get done before they are official. One thing is they have to get their picture taken. I’ve looked around online and have found some really quality Utah realtor photographer.

I’ve been making my checklist of all the things I need to get done before I can start my new career. I can’t wait until the market starts booming again!

Avaya IP Office

Monday, October 29th, 2007

We’ve paid homage previously to the versatile and robust Avaya IP Office.  Well, the IP telephony powerhouse now has the Small Office Edition and apparently we are not the only fans of the VoIP solution; “we highly recommend it,” (their words, not ours) for small and medium sized businesses, since the system can support anywhere from two to 28 users.

Risk Management Software

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Those of you immersed in the business world know the necessity of risk management software; it makes the process of tracking and securing documents (in any format) much more effective and efficient, not to mention simple.

There are a number of companies that provide beneficial applications that enable companies to manage and control PC documents, comply with retention policies, and know the real-time status of all documents; I happen to be a fan of this one.

Most document retention companies have comprehensive websites that explain in depth their products, including benefits and features.  Some even have demo videos that you can watch.
