Bridal Showers Don’t Have To Be Nightmares

May 22nd, 2008

Spring is the season of love, right? At least…it seems that way. Couples everywhere get married during the blissful springtime. I am sure that it seems this way in the state you live, but Utah seems to have more  marriages during the spring than any other state. All of my friends are not-so-slowly getting hitched and I’ve had to throw bridal shower after bridal shower. Here are some of the best ways I’ve found to make it an amazing party without it being a burden on my shoulders:

  • Depending on if this is a surprise party or not, have the bride-to-be get you a preferred guest list (with addresses!) at least a month before the actual bridal shower is supposed to take place. This should give you enough time to get together invitations, send them out, and give the receivers a chance to RSVP without anyone feeling stressed over it.

  • Food is a big part of any bridal shower. The guests and the future bride expect to be well-fed with deliciously amazing food. When I was on the hunt for some great Utah caterers. I know I needed something perfect but wouldn’t break the bank. I had to do a lot of searching, looking, and hoping, but I finally found the best caterer. Believe me! After finding the caterer, everything else just seemed to fall into place.

  • Decorations are also important for any bridal shower. Keep it consistent with what the bride likes or what she wants. But above all, have fun with it!

  • And don’t worry; it will all be over soon. And, of course, you and the bride will have lots of fun once it is all planned.

Survey Says…

May 19th, 2008

In a previous post, we linked to some awful customer service stories. Well they are only awful if they happened to you…when you read about them, they can sometimes be amusing. But when you are a business owner or in the upper echelons of the company, you will need to make sure to give a listening ear to those who have to deal with customer service calls all day. If day in and day out your employees have to deal with angry and annoying customers, their work performance is going to suffer. One great way to get ideas of what your employees are going through and what they suggest can be done to help their situation is with online survey software. Not only will you be able to see what is bothering your customers about your customer service, but you will be able to see both sides of the story–from the employees. You never know; this could be what you need to keep peace in the workplace.

Never Work in a Cubicle Again

May 12th, 2008

As the weather gets nicer, it gets harder to not get antsy to be outside. If you are anything like me, you know you spend long periods of time just staring out the window at work thinking It looks so nice outside. And by the time you get out there, it is too late to really enjoy it. So, if you are looking for a new industry to work in, consider trucking jobs. Not only will you get to stare out your window the whole time you are working, but you can be out on the open road…what’s better than that? And now is the best time to get into the trucking industry because of the huge need of quality, trained drivers. Many companies are offering fantastic compensation and benefits to newly signed drivers. Why wait? The need is so high and they are offering great things…go for it!

All you have to do is google that phrase and you will have hit after hit of horrendous stories. There are many companies who have reputations for the worst customer service. And to make it all worse they usually have on hold messages that are irritating or non-existent. The least they can do is have a creative and entertaining…maybe even soothing on hold music message.

3 Top Ways to be a Sucessful EBayer

April 30th, 2008

When selling online, there are a few “tools of the trade” that every successful merchant should know. And, of course, the biggest online selling site is eBay. So, if you are thinking about starting a business on eBay or you just want to revamp your current store front, keep these three essential tips in mind:

  1. Research:  Know the product you are selling, know how much it is worth, and know how much it is going for. Look around the site and see how others have described the product. Get creative. Get ideas.
  2. Dropship: It will definitely ease the stress if you use Doba drop ship. You won’t have to worry about storing your products and taking up space. The warehouse will ship it directly to the purchaser.
  3. Picture: Take a good picture of the product. You will have a higher probability of someone purchasing your item if it showcases it in the best light.

Debt, Debt, and Even More Debt!

April 14th, 2008

We all want more money and to get out of debt, right? But it is easier said than done.  One of the most plaguing debts in our society is our mortgage. Everyone seems to be looking for a great way to organize a mortgage payoff. Here are a few tips that you might find beneficial:

  • Always make your payments on time. Over a long period of time, your late fees will accumulate into painstakingly high numbers. You can avoid all of that by paying on time. This can and will save you so much money, and help you pay off your debts that much sooner.
  • Cut down on non-necessities. I know, this is going to be hard—but it will be worth it. Until you can pay off your mortgage and other debts, you might have to live without a few things. Or at least just make some cutbacks. For example, if you eat out a lot…start bringing your lunch to work or have a home cooked meal for dinner.
  • Find a great mortgage payoff system. There are tons out there to choose from, but you need to find the one that fits perfectly with your situation and circumstance. But make sure that you do your research.

It is common in many businesses to leave their customers on hold. But do you know how much they hate being put on hold? Well, there is now a way to make it a little more entertaining for them while promoting your business. Things to Remember When Choosing a Dropshipper

March 14th, 2008

Trying to find the right dropshipper for your needs can be a frustrating experience. Each dropshipper offers different products and policies. As to not make a mistake, it is imperative that you do your own research about each dropshipper. So here are a few tips for you to keep in mind when conducting your research:

1. Thoroughly look through their entire website. This is a very important step. Because of the fact that, if you choose that dropshipper, you will be on their website quite a bit, you want to make sure that it is easy to maneuver and is very user-friendly. You will want to make sure that you can become easily acquainted with that site. One specific company has a very easy to use website. It is very accessible–even to those who are a little limited in their computer experience and abilities. That company is Doba dropship.

2. Read all the fine print. This may seem like a silly thing to mention, but a surprisingly large amount of people complain about the “fine print”. Well READ IT! If you read it before you sign it, it won’t surprise you. Make sure you fine with all the policies, regulations, and contract details.

3. Talk to those who have had success using that specific dropshipper. Learn from them; learn their “trade secrets”. Get their advice on the best way to utilize the dropshipper. With any company there are good reviews and not-so-good reviews. In my opinion, it is more important to talk to those who have great reviews than those who are bad. And here is why: Those that write the bad reviews are usually bitter and angry  people who did not thoroughly research the dropshipper, read all of the contract, and do not know the tricks of the trade of dropshipping. Most of those bad bad reviews are from people who didn’t get quick rich, as they thought they would. Just like any other business, it takes dedication and at least a little bit of effort in order to see some success.

So, there are a bunch of dropshippers out there to choose from. Do your research and you will benefit in the long run. Please let me know if you have any other advice for finding the best dropshipper. I would love to read your feedback and tips!

Have you ever just googled new and interesting businesses? Just to see what comes up? It is actually very entertaining. Sometimes you can find businesses that are brilliant while others are silly. So what makes crazy business ideas work and some not? What is the determining factor? Is it because they have amazing online project management or fantastic advertising?

I just read about one lady who started making high-end homemade gourmet dog biscuits out of her home. She even quit her dog to fulfill her dream. It didn’t turn out so well. There are so many other ones. One funny site I found is here.  Check it out. It is sure to make you laugh.
